Maruti Suzuki’s iconic off-roader, the Jimny, has achieved a significant sales milestone in India and global markets. Since its launch in June 2023, the five-door Maruti Suzuki Jimny has recorded cumulative sales of 1,02,024 units, according to a recent report by Autocar Professional.
Out of the total units sold, 26,180 units were retailed in the Indian market (from launch to the end of April 2025), while the remaining 75,844 units were exported to various international markets, showcasing the SUV’s strong global appeal.

How It Compares With Mahindra Thar
Despite the achievement, the Jimny’s domestic sales are still behind its key competitor — the Mahindra Thar. The Thar, including its variants like the Thar Roxx, has amassed 2,59,921 units in sales from October 2020 to April 2025, giving it a considerable edge in the Indian market.
It’s important to note, however, that the Mahindra Thar has had a longer presence in the market, and the introduction of multiple variants like the three-door and Thar Roxx has further strengthened its market share.
