Renault appears to be making bold moves to strengthen its presence in the Indian automobile market. The French carmaker, which has already confirmed the arrival of updated versions of the Duster and Bigster, is now also working on facelifted versions of the popular Renault Kiger and Triber. Recently, camouflaged test units of both vehicles were seen on Indian roads, hinting at the upcoming changes in their design.
Renault Kiger Facelift (2026): What’s New?
The updated Kiger retains the overall silhouette of the current-generation model but brings with it some notable tweaks, especially on the front fascia. From what can be observed through the camouflage, the 2026 Kiger will feature:
- A more prominent central grille
- A redesigned smaller grille with the Renault logo
- Sleeker LED daytime running lights
- A flatter bonnet line
- Freshly styled alloy wheels
While the interiors haven’t been spied yet, it’s expected that Renault will retain the current engine lineup. This means we’ll likely see the same three options under the hood:
- 1.0L naturally aspirated petrol
- 1.0L turbocharged petrol
- CNG variant (offered as an option)
2026 Renault Triber: Refined Looks with Familiar Engineering
Just like the Kiger, the 2026 Triber facelift is expected to stick closely to its current design language while integrating subtle yet noticeable visual updates. Key changes include:
- A revamped front grille
- Updated bumpers
- New headlamp design
- Redesigned, boxier tail lamps that give the rear a bolder look
Despite the changes on the outside, the Triber is likely to continue with the same 1.0L NA petrol engine that powers the existing version. Renault may, however, introduce minor tuning or feature enhancements, although nothing has been confirmed yet.
India Launch & Expectations
Renault has clearly been ramping up efforts to rejuvenate its model lineup for India. With the new Kiger and Triber facelifts undergoing tests, it’s evident that the company is committed to remaining competitive in the compact SUV and MPV segments.
